Maxime has extensive experience providing legal advice and support to entrepreneurs and large corporations doing business in the fields of technology, video game, digital media, film, television, publishing, music, as well as in the retail sector.


In the context of his legal practice in technology law, Maxime represents and advises clients in the negotiation and drafting of contracts related to all aspects of technology commercialization, including outsourcing agreements, software licensing, systems integration, and IT services.


In the field of entertainment law, he represents producers, broadcasters and distributors, from both the United States and Canada, regarding all aspects of the development, production, licensing and distribution of film projects, television programs, live stage performances and musical productions.


Maxime is a registered trademark agent and has extensive experience in both trademark prosecution and enforcement. Throughout his career, he has handled significant domestic and international trademark portfolios. He is trusted by a variety of clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, to handle their important trademark assets and defend them when necessary. He has been lead counsel on several intellectual property and trademark litigation matters and, in that context, successfully represented his clients in court proceedings or assisted them in reaching a suitable settlement whenever appropriate. 


Maxime advises clients on a wide range of issues related to privacy law. He develops policies, responds to investigations conducted by regulatory authorities, conducts audits relating to privacy and system security, drafts outsourcing and service agreements involving the transfer of personal information, and assists clients facing challenges related to the protection of personal information. 


Maxime also advises clients on matters related to intellectual property registration, litigation and licensing, particularly with respect to trademarks, domain names and copyrights.


Prior to founding St. Lawrence Law Firm, Maxime practiced law for over a decade in two prominent Canadian law firms, Stikeman Elliott and Heenan Blaikie.
